Rafael was born in Haifa, Israel in January 1971 and moved with his family at a young age to New Rochelle, NY where he was raised.
Rafael graduated with a BA from the University of Pennsylvania in 1993 and began his career on Wall Street as a licensed securities broker holding both the Series 7 & 24 licenses where he managed investment portfolios and while at US Securities & Futures became involved in corporate finance through Regulation S and Regulation D offerings raising capital in what is today referred to as the PIPE (Private Investment Public Equity) business.
Rafael left Wall Street for Zurich, Switzerland in 1997 to open his own boutique investment firm, Millenium Asset Management AG, with offices on the Bahnhofstrasse. While in Zurich he continued managing porfolios for private high net worth investors who banked with Credit Suisse, and several private banks in Luxembourg and Lichtenstien.
In Zurich, Rafael continued his activity in micro-cap finance by conducting numerous European road shows for private and small public companies seeking debt/equity financing holding luncheon presentation for fund managers and family office investment managers in Zurich, Geneva, London, Paris, Brussels, Frankfurt, Munich, and Monte Carlo.
In 2001 Rafael left Zurich to return to the country of his birth where he continues raising debt and equity capital for high tech, defense electronics, life sciences, and renewable energy companies, based in the USA, Europe, and Israel. In his career, Rafael has raised over $190 million for private and micro-cap public companies.
Rafael is married and the father of 15-year old fraternal twin sons. His hobbies include: hiking, swimming, surfing, camping, mountain biking, and basketball. He remains an avid NY Yankees baseball fan.
